We created dp with a super simple dream: to take these ancient, raw little pieces of the earth and turn them into quiet, grounding companions for your everyday life. Let’s be real—the world gets ridiculously noisy sometimes. We didn't want to make heavy, fancy jewelry that just sits in a box or feels like a flex. We wanted to make something that feels like a warm, reassuring hug—a little reminder of the peace and energy you already carry inside yourself.
Wait, what about all that Eastern philosophy stuff?
If you’ve dipped your toes into the crystal world, you’ve probably heard people talk about Feng Shui or ancient Eastern energy traditions. Coming from China, a place with over 5,000 years of history, we grew up around these ideas.
But here’s how we look at it: Feng Shui isn't some spooky mystery or fortune-telling trick. Honestly? Think of it as an ancient form of environmental science and statistics that people spent thousands of years figuring out. Just like modern physics tells us that literally everything in the universe vibrates at its own frequency, ancient Eastern wisdom was just an early way of saying, "Hey, your environment and your personal vibe totally affect each other." It’s all about finding harmony—in your space, and in your mind.
Meet QianQian: The Heart Behind dp
So, who’s actually designing these pieces? That would be QianQian.
She studied Art & Design at one of the top universities in China, so she’s always been pretty obsessed with color, balance, and aesthetics. But her real lightbulb moment happened when she started applying these ancient energy alignment ideas to her own life. Slowly, her daily routine shifted. She felt calmer, more focused, and things just started flowing better for her.
She loved that feeling so much that she wanted to pass it along. That’s how dp was born—combining 5,000 years of Eastern philosophical warmth with clean, lightweight modern style.
What does “dp” even mean?
We get this question all the time! It actually comes from the initials of two simple Chinese words: Dongfang (The East) and Pingan (Peace & Well-being).
In traditional Chinese culture, ‘Ping’ goes way beyond just "being safe." It means balance, harmony, and feeling centered. When you wear a piece of dp, our main hope is just that it brings a little extra calm and steady power to your day.
So, where do these magical stones actually come from?
All of our raw crystals come straight from Donghai, China—aka the official "World Capital of Crystals." The geological story behind this place is mind-blowing:
Tectonic Shifts: Donghai sits right along an ancient fault line. Hundreds of millions of years ago, intense heat and pressure deep underground created perfect little "highways" for pure minerals to cool down and crystallize.
Ancient Timing: These crystals literally started forming during the Yanshanian period (we’re talking 200 to 300 million years ago!).
A Thousand-Year Craft: Local artisans in Donghai have been hand-mining and polishing crystals since the Tang Dynasty over 1,000 years ago. Crystal knowledge is basically in their DNA.
While our stones come from the peaceful mountains of Donghai, our modern design studio is located in Dongguan, Guangdong.
Dongguan sits right in the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area—hands down one of the most vibrant, dynamic bay areas in the world.
